Miscellaneous Fiber
Products and Optical Transport TRANSCEIVERS
- Fiber Optic Transceiver-Wikipedia Most systems use a "transceiver" which includes both transmission and receiver in a single module. The transmitter takes an electrical input and converts it to an optical output from a laser diode or LED. A
bi-directional Fiber Optic Node-Wikipedia is generally described in terms of the number of "homes passed" that are served by that specific fiber node. Nodes have the ability to deliver data over more efficient fiber optic lines, rather than other lines with greater speed
restrictions. The remaining area from the node to an individual destination, often called "last mile" service, can be achieved
with copper or other types of wire. AGC-Wikipedia
Abbreviation for automatic gain control. A process or means by which gain is automatically adjusted in a specified manner as a function of input level or another specified parameter.

7708VB-4-IH-SE
Single HD or Quad SD/ASI Transceiver with Ethernet
Description:
The
7708VB-4-IH-SE is part of the Evertz FacilityLINK series of
Multiservice fiber transport products. Common applications include
bi-directional transport of video plus Ethernet for purposes as
simple as bringing back M&C data to full file-transfer or LAN
extension. The 7708VB-4-1H-SE combines these signal types and
directions into a single product which utilizes a 1.485GB/s link
rate. This allows the use of economical HD-SDI local loop
transport links, and expands their capabilities and value by
adding the ability to transport HD-SDI or multiple SD-ASI signals
and up to 1GB/s Ethernet.

7707ET Ethernet
Transceiver
Description:
The
7707ET is a VistaLINK capable Ethernet Fiber Transceiver that
provides an economical method of transmitting two 10BaseT Ethernet
channels or one 100Base-TX Ethernet channel over optical fiber.
The transceiver is IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T and IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-TX
compliant. It mediates between a 10/100BASE-TX segment and
supports both full duplex and half-duplex operation. Monitoring of
card status and parameters is provided locally at the card edge
and remotely via VistaLINK. A pair of 7707ET transceivers
permits full duplex communication over single or dual optical
fibers. Diagnostic LEDs provide indication of power, link status
and data reception.
