( Non-Penetrating Roof Mount for Satellite. Solid and Mesh Antennas )
NP-10
During the course of design, a preliminary study of wind stresses imposed on satellite components up to a 10-foot aluminum mesh antenna and the NP-10 NON PENETRATING MOUNT was performed.
The NP-10 Non-Penetrating Roof Mount is designed to survive without permanent damage to deformation is subjected to 145 mile-per-hour wind speeds while supporting up to a 10-foot aluminum mesh antenna.
1 | Wind force on the antennas (worst case wind normal to face) | 2547 lbs. |
2 | Vertical shear (weight of reflector mount and ballast) | 2940 lbs. |
3 | Horizontal shear | 2547 lbs. |
4 | Overturning moment | 12,736 lbs. |
5 | Maximum load on mount brace legs (compression and tension) | 2547 lbs. |
6 | Maximum load on mount brace legs (axial bending moment) | 764 lbs. ft. |
7 | Maximum load on ballast pads and ballast pad attachment bracket (turning moment) | 1061 lbs. ft. |
8 | Maximum load on mast (axial bending moment) | 6387 lbs. ft. |
9 | Ballast each pad with 11-40 lb. concrete blocks (6 pads) | 440 lbs. total each pad |
NP-10 Non Penetrating Roof Mount
